Brand: Dcm

DCM (Discontinuous Conduction Mode) is a switching regulator operation mode that is commonly used to generate low voltage AC or DC signals. The FT12 is a switched mode flyback controller that operates in DCM. In a DCM switching regulator, the inductor current continuously ramps up and down but the period of inductor current flow occurs for less than 50% of a switching cycle, forming discontinuous conduction discontinuities. This mode is preferred in applications where high input voltage and a low output voltage are required, as it allows for a better usage of higher frequency MOSFETs, reduced ripple, smaller capacitors, and high efficiency. The FT12 is a high-performance controller specifically designed for LED lighting applications requiring the regulated 12V output voltage. It employs advanced editing technology that ensures fast lock-up time, accurate on-time control, and output voltage tracking during light load conditions. The controller also offers programmable soft start, current foldback, and thermal shutdown features for overcurrent and overtemperature protection.
